3 reasons to consider rubber chippings for your arena.

1. Rubber chippings help reduce impact on the environment

At the heart of everything we do, we are recyclers. Our business ethos is all about taking waste materials and revaluing them. On a typical day, approximately 100,000 tyres come to the end of their working life. These tyres will go for incineration abroad or landfill. For us, this is not the best way to dispose of this waste material. We recycle and separate the waste tyres into wire, fines and rubber chippings all parts having a second life.

Rather than shipping them to other countries to burn the waste tyres or sending them to landfill, we reuse, revalue and repurpose them. Giving a new life to a tough product.

2. Rubber chippings will last

When considering materials for arena surfacing there are many options.

You have wood chip, fibre, wax and sand.

Whilst different surfaces suit different needs what chippings offer is longevity. Once the rubber is down, if cared for right you shouldn’t need a top up for up to 5-10 years!

Due to it not rotting away or breaking down you can have a well surfaced arena that needs little maintenance.

3. Rubber Chippings are good for all year.

Rubber Chippings are frost resistant to -5 degrees. And if harrowed can resists even lower temperatures. Meaning not even Jack Frost can put a damper on winter riding!

In the summer the rubber helps stop the base sand becoming to deep and heavy for the horses to move through.

Creating great footing and a great all round surface rubber chippings are truly a top contender for any arena surface!
